My friend LoMac found a website to the creepiest sounds ever. I'm famously (well, in my circle of friends and family) terrified of the Screen Gems logo, so she knew these sounds would creep me the hell out. They did.
Here's the Screen Gems logo, for reference:
It's called The Conet Project, and it's a collection of shortwave numbers/music/what-have-you:
"Shortwave Numbers Stations are a perfect method of anonymous, one way communication. Spies located anywhere in the world can be communicated to by their masters via small, locally available, and unmodified Shortwave receivers.
These stations use very rigid schedules, and transmit in many different languages, employing male and female voices repeating strings of numbers or phonetic letters day and night, all year round. The voices are of varying pitches and intonation; there is even a German station (The Swedish Rhapsody) that transmits a female child's voice!"
The audio is all distorted, other-worldly, and bizarre. As I told her, it's the soundtrack to my nightmares. But it's so fascinating... I can't stop listening.

Interesting: why do you think the Screen gems logo gets to you? Is it the 1960/70 techno sound in and of its self or did you perhaps watch a disturbing Screen Gems production and then associate the logo with that or did something external to the production/tv/movie happen and then the logo came on in the background?
There was an Ironsides episode that totally creeped me out when I was a kid...some lunatic wanted revenge on Ironside dude for convicting him in the past I guess...anyway he got IS to come to a mansion and then he had the mansion rigged so that it wasn't wheelchair friendly and he couldn't figure out how to get out and then spooky stuff started happening...fortunately, I did not associate the Universal, bump-dity, bump-dity bump with the horror of that episode...and I think that I could handle anything, if I knew it was going to end in the "Good night Mr. Walters...grumble grumble!!"

You know, I'm not sure why I found it so creepy. I just know that the combination of the red-on-yellow graphic and distorted moog music made me run out of the room the second The Flintstones or Bewitched ended.
Since my sisters and friends didn't even express discomfort at this thing, I thought I was the only one in the whole world who felt that way. Ah, the magic of the Internet... it turns out lots of kids were traumatized, and this closing logo has earned the nicknames, "The S From Hell" and "Scream Gems."
